***OOC --- Hey everyone. I have a Japanese exam to study for and a paper to write this weekend. As soon as I possibly can, hopefully this weekend, I'll get the first official post up setting up this entire world. I'll edit this post to reflect that as well. I appreciate your patients***
This story takes place some 10 years time after the betrayal of Aizen, Gin, and Tousen. It's a time when the majority of the captains are getting older and either moving up in position (squad zero), retired, or have met their demise. The youngest captain Hitsuguya has stepped up and taken the reins and become Captain Commander of the Gotei 13 with Byakuya thinking the position was beneath someone of his station in life. The previous Captain Commander had never filled the vacant positions of Aizen and his band of traitors left behind and it seems that Soul Society had been under duress time after time since the betrayal and had never been able to fill those positions.
Hitsuguya stared out the window of his barracks and began to wonder if this calm that had lasted a few months would last long enough for him not only to replace the captains that betrayed them but to replace the captains that had moved on to other things. In all there were 6 positions to fill which left the gotei 13 at almost half their normal strength. While there were several Vice Captains and other ranked officers throughout the gotei 13 clearly capable of the position Toushiro wanted to be completely sure he picked the right people for the positions. As a result he wasn't going to leave any stones unturned.
*****OOC--- Our story will take place from the time after Aizen's betrayal and defeat that we don't know how its outcome will be yet. To the time of this post. It will give us some time to do back story for each of our characters and build them up. It will also give me some time to tailor the plot to suit us all. Alright you can get to posting****

[Karakura Town - Dusk]
Takeshi watched from the roof of a department store as the humans below scurried about their business, the sun slowly sinking below the horizon as day transformed into night. The armored shinigami shivered as his reiatsu spiked again, a jet of reiryoku unseen but easily felt spreading through the night air. The spikes ussually happened once every month or so, but since arriving in Karakura Town, Takeshi had suffered the random releases of energy several times in the past hour. Something or someone was agitating his spiritual pressure and neither Takeshi nor Ounihebi enjoyed having their position given away so frequently.

Sachi stared down at the paper as he tried to figure out the answer to his homework problems, even if his mind was really elsewhere. The last few days had really thrown a major curve ball in his life. While he knew from being able to see spirits all his life that things aren't always what they seem it was still hard to believe that his spirit is female. Even if he knew things didn't always seem right in his life he wasn't unhappy as a male but then again he wasn't happy either. He let out a sigh as he felt a large burst of energy and then felt it fade yet again. He had been experiencing that a lot over the last couple hours. Something definitely wasn't right but wasn't sure if He should go investigate or not.
After about 10 minutes of internal debate and rushing through the rest of the homework Sachi got up from his chair and pushed it up to his desk. He grabbed a small windbreaker Jacket and a little pez dispenser from his desk and headed to his front door. "Yo kaa-san I'm heading out for a walk. I'll be back in a little bit." He exclaimed as he ran his fingers through his much longer blond hair and closed the door behind himself.

Takeshi had started moving again, going across rooftops with his Shunpo; the shinigami's aura would draw too much attention if he walked the crowded streets, and blowing out a shop window with a reiatsu flare wouldn't be too conducive to stealth either. The shinigami was constantly looking over his shoulder for any hollows that might be in pursuit, they always seemed to home in on his flares, even monthly the spirits flocked to him.
'What sort of aura is about this place that so wildly destabilises my reiryoku?' he wondered, looking for a secluded spot in which to sleep and draw away any followers. Takeshi huffed, the modern age was too full of crowds and buildings to find a good hiding place, even the abandoed houses were too close to the inhabited ones, so the Soul Reaper contented himself with running around the town until Tsubakidai Park was sufficiently empty. The ronin settled himself in the branches of a large tree with plenty of open space around it in case anything approached, sleep would not be easy tonight so the warrior meditated to calm his nerves and converse with his zanpakutou.

Sachi felt the breeze in the air even with his jacket on. He shivered a little as he felt yet another burst of energy in the area but was unable to zero in on it. He knew that it was going to be quite some time before he was able to master many of these skills that Urahara harped on him having to learn. He wandered down the crowded streets of Karakura Town and sighed about how much simplier life was before moving to this town. He had yet to make many friends and he felt that his situation was just going to make it that much harder. As he made a turn and decided to cut through the park. Sachi found it weird as he felt his own reiatsu flash for just a brief second even if it was faint the lost of control of his own reiatsu could be a very bad thing. He would be a hollow magnet and he knew he didn't have the skill or the time to continually be fighting hollows.

Takeshi shivered again as reiatsu washed over him, but opened his eyes a moment later when the realization struck the shinigami that it wasn't his spiritual energy he was feeling this time.
'That can't be good, who's in the park at this hour, another Soul Reaper?' He peered out of the branches, scanning the lawn for his visitor and saw the squad of Hollows almost as soon as he noticed the human who was being followed by them.
"Not good-" Takeshi griped, drawing Chimimare na Ounihebi. Protecting the human was his first priority, famliar aches tracing across his body as old memories of his death came to the surface again. The armored ghost gritted his teeth "not again, not while I have the King's Favor."
Chimamire na Ounihebi's scollwork glowed bloody red in agreement.

Sachi continued to walk down the path of the park feeling a bit uneasy. The young human couldn't place this weird feeling but continued to walk searching the area for any clues. There were clues throughout the park that there were several beings of high reiatsu but none of them could be made out clearly. This troubled the kid because it was just another sign that he was unprepared for the life that he had been thrusted into.
This whole situation began to weigh on him as well. His soul did not match his body and noone could tell him or was it her what that could mean. Also there were these strange dreams that he had been having the few times he had gotten a chance to sleep over the last few days. None of it made sense really but he continued on as he slipped further and further into his own thoughts becoming even less aware of the area surrounding him as well as starting to put off even more reiatsu as the stress began to build on his young mind.
Just as he was about to snap out of it all on his own he felt the slash of something running down his side. He screamed out in pain as he went to the ground. Trying to fight off the blackness long enough to reach his rabbit pez dispenser.
Offline
Takeshi blamed the late arrival on his hesitation and slowness as his shunpo carried him across the park grounds, but it was time for battle, not berating himself. The shinigami took the arm and then the head of the Hollow that had attacked the boy with a heavy-handed slash and a powerful thrust. The beast's mask cracked and crumbled as the longsword ripped its way through.
Takeshi stood between the boy and the other four Hollows in his armor, something that a Hollow in this part of the world probably hadn't seen or even heard of, but whether Hollows actually had a social network was none of the Soul Reaper's concern, destroying them before they could cause any more damage was.

Sachi hit the ground with a thud but was able to recover enough to reach the pez dispenser right as someone pulled the hollow off him. That's when he noticed that there were 4 more hollows all around. There was no time to waste as he slid that yellow ball of flavored mod soul in his mouth and let out a grimace as his body and his soul separated.
It was getting less and less disorienting each time his body and her soul separated. If the unknown armored man who had just destroyed the hollow that had just attacked her body were to turn around he would now see the young man's acting completely different and a young yellow haired girl in a soul reapers outfit and a katana in her hand. The armored man though didn't get a chance to see the separation because before anyone could even blink the girl moved and slashed across one of the hollows mask with speed even she didn't know she possessed.
Offline
'What the hell, where'd she come from?' Takeshi blinked as the maiden reaper jumped on the unfortunate Hollow with astounding speed, returning his attention back to the fight just in time to avoid another's claw. In leaping back, Takeshi had left his zanpakutou embedded in his dead foe. Reduced to his fists, the Hollows seemed to regard him as less of a threat and two focused on the girl, the third remaining Hollow advanced without caution on the man.
"Big-" Takeshi grinned, gathering spiritual energy around his fist, solidifying the air "Mistake!" he shouted; the uppercut caught the Hollow by surprise, shattered its mask, and pulped its head with the force of the blow. A gust washed across the battlefield as Takeshi released the atmosphere from around his fist. The Soul Reaper's underpowered shunpo allowed him to gather up Ounihebi before the corpse it was buried in could fully dissipate and let her fall to the ground. The scrollwork glowed an agry red, berating her wielder for allowing himself to become disarmed in a fight.

Sachi noticed that the man near her began to use his reiatsu and concentrate it into his fist. This triggered a memory in her head as she dodged one of the attacks from the two remaining hollows. She began to move her hands in what seemed to be a familiar pattern but she had no idea what was triggering this thought and then she pointed at the hollow that was about to attack the armored man from behind, "Incantation number 4 White Lightning Crash Down." she said as a streak of blue lightning left her fingertips striking the hollow and singing it to a crisp before it withered before their eyes and dissipated into nothing.
"Hey you need to be a bit more aware of your surroundings armored man!" Sachi shouted out at the strange man.
Offline
Takeshi made an indignant sound under his breath "I'm perfectly aware; these things aren't a threat t-" was all he could get out before his reiatsu flared again, several times in fact, bowling over the last Hollow and sending Takeshi clumsily to his knees, dropping his companion sword again as it glowed in alarm.
"W-what... is this... weakness?" he asked the female Soul Reaper blankly before collapsing face first into the grass.
Offline
"I I don't know." Sachi dropped to her knees to help the weakened armored warrior. Concern formed on her face forgetting about the remaining hollows. She grimaced as she noticed his sword was glowing violently and kicked it away from him unsure of whether the sword had anything to do with it or not. Just as she was about to help him up she felt a hollow slam its claw down on her gashing her shoulder open. "You vile creature" she streaked as she bounced up. "hold on a minute I'll take you to get some help but I have an issue to take care of first." Sachi got up and focused her energy she jumped into the air slashing at the hollow that had just landed a blow on her. Pushing it back and cornering it against a tree. Just as she was about to land a finishing blow she noticed that another hollow had creeped up and was about to attack the man that had helped her. "Oh no you don't way of binding Hakudou 1." she yelled as she made some hand gestures yet again and watched as the hollows arms bound to its side and it fell to the ground.

'This is intolerable,' Takeshi thought, still quite stunned from his sudden barrage of reiatsu flares 'a warrior like myself being rescued, and by a woman no less... where is my blade?' The Soul Reaper wondered silently grasping at the manicured grass while his arm refused to move 'It's no use, my reiryoku is spent, I'm under her protection... and in her debt... a thousand curses upon this humiliating destiny of mine.'
Offline
Sachi took the advantage she had created with her kidou attacks she was able to quickly shatter the masks of the two remaining hollows. She quickly moved up to the man laying on the ground. "Are you able to walk or should I help you?" She asked with a sweet smile on her face. "There is a little shop just down around the corner that can usually help people like us."
Offline
Takeshi only gave a small grunt as he laboriously pushed his body up off the dirt and grass "my- my s-sword" he whispered breathlessly, glancing at the woman with tired eyes and burning cheeks. '...she is beautiful as well,' he thought 'this only increases my shame.' The very act of standing took most of his remaining energy and the shinigami stumbled fowards, trying to take a step, and fell to his knees again with a sigh.
"I- probably need help" the warrior requested quietly, hopefully quiet enough that she wouldn't hear.
Offline
Sachi continued to smile sweetly as she turned and went over to pick up the sword she had kicked away from him. Its glow became faint and she frowned slightly at it before picking it up and returning to the strange armored man who had fallen back to his knees. She helped him up again and handed him his sword. "Here, this is yours I take it. I don't know why it was glowing so violently before but it seems to have faded." She paused looking back at her human body. "Go back home, and pretend to be me. No one should notice other then you acting a bit differently then me. They will think I'm just stressed out again. I'll be home as soon as I can." She then turned back around heading towards the candy shop she had come to know just a little to well for her tastes, once she was satisfied that the mod soul was indeed following her orders.
After walking several blocks they came across a building where she stopped and knocked on the door. There seemed to be no answer so Sachi did what any redblooded teenager would do when they really need something. She walked in anyway and began to search around. There seemed to be no one around so she leaned against a wall and said wait here. "They might be downstairs, I'll be right back." Sachi moved off towards the basement unaware of the black cat in the corner of the store watching their movements.

"She doesn't like being seperated" the ronin murmured, thinking about how many cups of sake he'd have to down in the mental realm as penance for his poor conduct in battle when the two of them connected again. Takeshi was still too drained of reiryoku to make much sense of the other reaper's conversation with the boy, electing to silently follow his compatriot. He nodded once and sat down against a stack of rock candy studying the vague sense of oddness he got from the shop.
Unsheathing his blade, Takeshi tried to enter the trance that would let him connect to the mental projection of his soul that he and Ounihebi shared. "What's wrong with me, I can barely make a fist" the warrior sighed, looking up at the ceiling after several minutes of exhausting concentration "ow-" the red-gilt longsword slammed into its scabbard "let's see you singe me through that then" he huffed, sucking on a burned fingertip.

Sachi continued down towards the basement where she had received what little training she had from Urahara. She never knew what that strange man was up to in this place but generally guessed it was no good. She shouted at the top of her lungs. "Urahara-san are you down here. I might have found something you might find interesting. Please come quick." With that she turned and headed back upstairs hoping he had heard her.
meanwhile the black cat that had been watching them snuck up to Takeshi and began to rub against his leg and purr at the armored knight. She looked at him and meowed trying to break him from his trance.

Takeshi, distracted by the cat's rustling against his armor, tilted his head to look at the animal, finger still between his teeth. "Nnd wa'd'you want?" the shinigami mumbled curiously.
